75 Belltownites Roast Cops at Steamy Union Hall

Wednesday night and walking around Belltown and no depression-like "recession" in sight. Restaurants and clubs are busy and making money. Belltown Pizza, Two Bells, Shallots, Marco's and more appear to thrive. Folks all around on the streets.

Eighty degrees inside the Union Hall. Over an hour of stuff from the police with graphs and stats and whatnot before the questions from citizens were allowed.

SPD was there en masse, as were local politicos, lots of Belltown restaurant folks including Tom Douglas, and the requisite crackpot or two out to waste people's time with inane questions.

The highlight: a passionate burst from Flying Fish owner Chris Keff, who said crime has never been worse in the 14 years since she's been on First and Bell. See the King-5 footage of the meeting here:
