Belltown Community Council

Hello All,
Just a quick reminder. The Belltown community meeting sponsored by the Belltown Community Council will be held WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 12th at 6PM and located at BELL TOWER BLDG.,2215 1st AVE. I strongly urge all of you to attend. Capt. Steve Brown will be attending as well as representatives from the King County Prosecutor's office. Please tell your friends, coworkers, and tenants about this. I will be there with a fresh batch of petitions. You may drop off any full ones, get a brand new one, or simply bring people down to sign an existing one.

Also, a brief update about what has been going on. The Tom Douglas organization has been the latest to take on our petition and distribute it throughout his restaurants. ( That's a lot of people we could add to our petition! ) Obviously, we didn't get to submit these before election day, but there are still so many requests and so many more petitions that are rapidly filling up. Also, not long ago, I received a phone call from Chief John Batiste from the Washington State Patrol, so we are starting to receive the attention we seek. Now for the troubling news, on Halloween, there was the second shooting in two weeks in the alley between 1st and 2nd ave. This one occurred directly behind my restaurant, while I was standing nearby and resulted in two casualties. One of which is technically a fatality, as the victim is brain dead and simply surviving on machines. This is one of the reasons I am encouraging all of you to attend the meeting and say once and for all that we want our neighborhood back. Thank you all for your time and efforts and I hope to see many of you on Wednesday.

Sincerely,
Brett Paulson
